Weapon Merchant Kael
Greeting
"Kael's Weapons. High-tier arms for the frozen frontier."
Dialogue Topics
Town
A northern bastion founded in the Third Age against ice creatures. The Altar of Ascension in the temple is the gateway to the Celestial Citadel -- the only path to the gods' throne.
Stock
I sell armor, food, weapons. The prices are fair, and the goods are quality. What do you need?
Market
Frostfire steel -- forged from ore found only in the Ice Queen's domain. Master Smith Bjorn works the legendary Frostfire Sword. Weapons from Frosthold are worth a journey through the snow.
Goods
Axes, swords, and harpoons -- the last one's for the ice bears, mostly.
Threat
The Ice Witch and her master, Clancriel the Fallen Queen, are imprisoned in the deepest ice. The Corruptor freed Clancriel, and her eternal winter threatens to consume the world.
Government
A military council -- Shaman Runic is the spiritual leader, Master Smith Bjorn the most respected craftsman. In Frosthold, strength and wisdom share power equally.
Corruption
The cold comes from below. The ice is thinning. Clancriel whispers through the cracks, and her whispers carry the Corruptor's voice. The Altar of Ascension still works -- but for how long?
Faction
The Crown -- the northern bastion holds for the kingdom. The Syndicate has no reach here. The ice kills smugglers faster than any guard.
The Frozen Ones in the Ice Caves
The frozen ones are here too -- not just in Glacier Bay. Frosthold's ice caves go deep, and the frozen ones are in the deepest levels. They were soldiers, once. Guardians of the Altar of Ascension. The Corruptor's cold has preserved them for centuries, and now they walk again. They don't remember who they were. They only remember the cold.
Ice Wraiths in the Deep
The ice wraiths are the spirits of those who died in the eternal winter -- travelers, hunters, soldiers who froze in the deep caves. The Corruptor's influence has given them form. They drift through the ice caves, freezing everything they touch. Shaman Runic says they're not evil -- just cold. Endlessly, eternally cold.
The Fallen Paladin
The fallen paladin was once a knight of the Celestial Court -- sent to guard the Altar of Ascension centuries ago. He was trapped in the ice when Clancriel's winter came. The corruption found him in the ice, twisted his faith. Now he serves the Ice Witch, wielding holy power for unholy purposes. Master Smith Bjorn says his sword still glows with celestial light -- but it's red now, not gold.
The Abyssal Wraith
The abyssal wraith appeared after Clancriel's escape. It's not from the ice -- it's from below. From the same void that the Corruptor came from. It feeds on the cold and the dark, growing stronger as Clancriel's winter spreads. Shaman Runic says if we don't stop it, it will open a rift. A rift to the same place the Fallen One was cast into.
Void Stalkers in the Ice
The void stalkers are the Corruptor's scouts -- sent through the cracks in the ice to assess Frosthold's defenses. They're invisible in the dark, and the ice caves are always dark. The Ice Warden has lost three patrols to them. He says they're not here to fight. They're here to watch. To report back. To prepare for something worse.
